The WHS website rebuild may have been one of our favorite launches of 2024. They came to us with a very specific mission: create a website that is easy to maintain and encompasses all of the services they offer to our community. Tall order, but we were ready to succeed!
The Challenge
The Whatcom Humane Society (WHS) plays a critical role in Whatcom County, serving as the primary shelter and animal control organization. However, their existing WordPress website, built through years of well-intentioned volunteer assistance, was no longer meeting their needs. Bloated with non-standard elements and plagued by frequent malfunctions, the website had become a source of frustration for staff. Updates were difficult, things would stop working without explanation, and the overall experience felt like it was held together with a digital band-aid. WHS needed a website that was reliable, user-friendly, and built to inspire their community of donors and supporters.
