What Are the Benefits of Blogging?
Blogging allows you a way to anticipate and respond to any questions your clients might have...before they even ask those questions!
There are articles and data everywhere highlighting the advantages of blogging. If you're reading this, you're probably thinking of starting a blog. I like to tell people that blogging allows people to be proactive in answering questions about their business. If you frequently find yourself in a situation where you start talking about your business and people bombard you with questions —then you will benefit from starting a blog.
Here are some great stats that highlight some of the benefits of regularly blogging:
- Nearly 40% of US companies use blogs for marketing purposes.
- 82% of marketers who blog daily acquired a customer using their blog, as opposed to 57% of marketers who blog monthly — which, by itself, is still an impressive result.
- 79% of companies that have a blog report a positive ROI for inbound marketing in 2015
- 77% of Internet users regularly read blog posts
Blogging influences 6% of eCommerce sales – 12% for businesses that blog regularly - Publishing 16 posts/mo gets 4.5x more leads than those that publish 4 posts
- 60% of people purchase a product after originally reading a blog post about it
- Once you publish 21-54 blog posts, your traffic can increase by as much as 30%
- Blog posts are 3.5x more likely to get shared on social media by email subscribers
Many people think of a 5 paragraph essay they wrote back in high school when we talk about writing a blog. Don't worry, a blog post can be way less lengthy than that. It could simply be a quick check-in to address a commonly asked question or to discuss a new product or service you offer. Blogging is a terrific method to communicate with your customers in a way that's more informative than a fast social media post or even an email.
